JULY NEWSLETTER

LOTS OF CHANGES GOING ON FOR AFSG

Hello AFSG Members from your Board of Directors:

We realize that it has been a while since we have communicated with you, and for that we apologize.  The Board has been working hard to make some improvements that we believe will benefit all of our Members.  Some of these improvements are:

NEW EMAIL ADDRESS

[email protected]

Please send all of your correspondence to this address.

NEW WEBSITE

Under Construction!!!!!!!

We have teamed with a new Webmaster and are creating a “new and improved” AFSG website.  This new site will allow only our members access to our monthly financial statements, Board meeting minutes, archived newsletters, E-blasts and much more.  We are looking at the possibility of paying annual dues on-line as well as ordering and paying for AFSG logo merchandise on the website.  We expect it to be up and running very soon and will let you all know when it is via email.

COMMUNICATIONS

As you can see with the changes above, we have made it our priority to not only continue, but improve and streamline communications with you, our members.

VETERANS DAY 2024

CAM Activities has planned a GREAT VETERANS DAY Program and we have been asked to participate.  Our part of the program will kick off at 11 AM to honor the history of the Day. The Flag Detail will present the Flags of all the branches of the Armed Forces at the Veterans Monument followed by an essay read by the winner of a local Middle School contest about “What a Veteran means to them”.  There will be a band and other festivities.  Lunch will be available, provided by CAM Activities.

This should be an awesome event and we hope that you will all attend.  Thank you Winnie Ftitz, for putting the essay contest together.  We are looking for Members to judge the submitted essays.  If you are interested please contact Jim Angarella at [email protected]

KICKOFF MEMBERSHIP MEETING FOR 2024-25 YEAR

NOVEMBER 7th  10AM  Palo Verde Room

MARK YOUR CALENDERS!!

This will be a VERY IMPORTANT MEETING as we will be electing new Board members at that time. Please remember that only current Members in “good standing” will be able to vote as per CAM rules.  If you haven’t renewed your 2024 Membership, or if you have questions about your status please contact me directly at [email protected]

TO ALL OF YOU VETERANS OUT THERE!!!

A lot of us have not submitted our names and status as Veterans to Cam Activities.  These are the folks who prepare the list of names of Community members who have Served, and publish it in the November edition of Lifestyles Magazine.  If you are new to The Grand or have been here for a while and just haven’t gotten around to it, now would be a great time to let them know.  Just email or stop by the Activities Desk.  No documentation is required.  Let them know what branch you Served in.
